Sex and the Workplace

I'm watching Sex and the City, season 2, online. It's 12:30pm and I'm leaving early to book it down to the states to pick up Andy's present. Ridiculous I know. Especially because we're meant to get 20-30cm in snow starting at 7pm. To be honest, I'd welcome the 20-30cm, as long as it's enough to keep me snowed in in the morning. Andy's supposed to be driving me in the morning though, so it'd probably be a lie.

Because Sex and the City is not enough to keep me entertained:

A church made of ice?

Prison Hotel

Prison Hotel

How neat? I'd really like to stay in the prison hotel one. I think I'm obsessed with prisons, criminals, and torture.

Sex and the Workplace continues...

Goodmorning Vancouver

It snowed. Again.

I think we got about ten centimetres. At. Least. Which of course prevented us from heading down to the states to pick up the gift I ordered for Andy. Depressing.

In retrospect, I maybe should have held off on this particular present. I couldn't think of anything to get him, considering I kind of outdid myself for our one year anniversary. I'm worried I won't be able to keep up this sudden tradition (oxymoron) of big and meaningful gifts. So I bought him a watch that he had picked out from a magazine last year when we'd first begun dating. The colours are different but I think I actually upgraded there. The one we first saw was blue, or a turquoise rather and that was cool, for sure, but the one I ended up getting was a black and gold combination.

I'm more than a little afraid he won't like it, especially becuase the present itself has been so hyped with this impending trip to the states and all the trouble it's caused us. Hopefully the trip (which is now happening tomorrow after I get off work at 4:30) will be fun and a sort of present in itself because I know Andy has been wanting to go shopping in the states for awhile.

Anywho, I'm not going to worry about it too much because Christmas is two days away and I'm so very excited.

I'm watching Sex and the City, season 2 at work and it feels so good to be two hours from freedom. I'm going to head downtown after I get off work and see if I can find something for Taylor. I feel so bad that uncle Stuart can buy me bigger things than my dad and I can buy for Taylor, but I guess it all works out because she has everything she needs anyway. After shopping I'm going to finally go see Twilight, JOY!

And now, a photo from the first page I 'stumble upon':

Swedish Touch

"Swedish Touch"...that's the headline of the paper this morning, the free one, not even The Province.

Mats Sundin is a Canuck today. Well, he was one yesterday actually, but today the whole city knows it.

Walking out of The Old Spaghetti factory last night with my mum and Andy we were passed by a trio of drunk men. Their conversation went something like this:

Man 1: "SUNDIN woo, woo...WOO WOO!"

Man 2: "He's drunk, ignore him"

Man 1: "SUNDIN WOO...WOO WOO!"

Half a block later my mum slipped on some ice and made the same "woo woo" noise. We laughed.

I have to say I'm glad, relieved even but I also have to say that I wouldn't have been too disappointed if it had gone the other way, if Mats Sunday was a New York Ranger today. Do I believe that one man can make a difference on a hockey team? Yes. Am I convinced that man is Sundin? Not yet.

I'd be a fool not to believe that he can be a factor, especially only two days after retiring Linden's number up to the rafters. Linden proves it after all, and he proved it all the way to the Stanley Cup Final in '94.

With 50 games left to play in the season, I'm just excited to see what happens.

Sundin to Sedin to Sedin and in? I certainly I hope so...
