Can't say I feel any different really, which is somewhat of a change from previous birthdays. Usually I wake up feeling...changed. If not more grown up than at least altered, variant, unusual. But alas, no such fanfare Sunday morning. There's a chance that celebrating (in more ways than one) before the actual day lessened the occasion but it hasn't been that way in the past.
I started out the festivities with a Banana Leaf dinner on Thursday night to celebrate not only my brithday, but the birthday of H's close friend B. She went above and beyond (for someone I've only met three or four times) and gave me a beautiful bracelet that I would probably never buy for myself but will certainly wear. A Bayside Tigers t-shirt from A's family was another nice treat. I didn't originally recognize the highschool as the one from Saved by the Bell. Now that I do however, I think the shirt is extra special!
Friday was next with a Canucks game at A's, CAKE, and presents from my besties. I don't know how they did it, but they managed to find a shirt that DOESN'T make my boobs look bigger than they are and actually fits me everywhere else. Woopwoop! I also got a pedicure which I will probably go in for after Mexico when my feet are gross.
Yay besties!

We kept things rolling at the Legion where cheap drinks, random friends, and a free shot from our waitress ensued! P, N, S, S, R, G, J, K, J...the list goes on. So many amazing friends showed up and while I still missed my good friend B very much, there was little else to complain about.

When the Legion closed at 12:30 we headed to Mr. Sub after a quick pit stop across the street for a beer. Many giant sandwiches later, A and I headed home and actually got a solid sleep, which was really nice. For the first time in a long time, I was hangover free in the morning.
Saturday was pretty low-key but I did manage to drop seven pairs of pants and three dresses off at the drycleaners to be hemmed. I told them I definitely need my things back by this coming Friday and I hope they come through or else my suitcase for Mexico is going to be a little empty (oops)! I also made my over to the mall and picked up two pairs of Haviana's for my trip as well as a black bathing suit bottom (really cheap) to go with the top I bought a few days ago. Then I had to race home to meet A for our date! He asked me what I wanted for my birthday this year because he was having a bit of trouble (I don't blame him...I want a lot of things in life but few are realistic as little presents for birthdays and the like). Anyway, all I really felt like I wanted when it came down to it was some time with him. Exams, work, school, assignments, dodgeball, and LIFE have been putting a TEENY TINY strain on the relationship. I just miss him.

And, as if I had planned it myself, A came through with the perfect combination of a gorgeous dinner at Joe Fortes and a movie (my choice) immediately after. I ate an entire crab, need I say more?
Texts started rolling in at about 12:03am Sunday and of course, my facebook wall was thoroughly raped by well wishers stopping by to say a quick Happy Birthday. Unlike A, I don't really mind the randoms coming to do this on my page, it's often a nice segway into a real conversation with people I haven't had the chance to speak to in awhile. A and I went to have breakfast with my mum at 9th ave and S was there although she didn't serve us (poo). After that, I had to say goodbye to mum AND A who had to go study and spent most of the afternoon packing for Mexico and lounging around the house. A came home to watch the Canucks beat the Blues to go up in the series 3-0 (woot) and then we were off to Rugby Club for dinner. Amazing food, amazing friends, everything went by too quickly. The shirt H and T got me was fab, a little inside! I love it.
Can't say much else happened. While the recap seems longwinded and packed...the weekend didn't seem that busy at all. I loved every one of my gifts and enjoyed having most of my good friends attend the important things.
Back to real life yesterday...but only for four more days and then MEXICO!
